I am Esra Sulhivand, from Turkey and a graduate of ADA University on International Studies. Currently, I am working at United Aid For Azerbaijan, as Executive Project Assistant on Inclusive Preschool Education.
During my studies, I was focused to acquire deep and comprehensive knowledge in International Relations Theories, Introduction to Public International Law, EU Law, Ethics and Law, Democracy and Human Rights, Women and Politics, and International Political Economy. Also, I am well introduced to European Logical Framework and EU project management, which I am planning to use as your ambassador. My educational background, internships, and volunteering throughout my studies and after graduating helped me realize my interests more and work harder to develop myself. I had a chance to be part of the German office of MEP Klaus Buchner at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium as a trainee. Throughout my traineeship, I have attended several committees and meetings on human rights, economics, and environmental, which helped me to develop my knowledge in these fields and to closely look up what kind of issues are going on. Moreover, I have had the chance of having a private meeting with the Deputy Director of Disability Rights at Human Rights Watch, Jane Buchanan on the conditions for people with disabilities in Iran. Besides, I have done an internship at UNICEF Azerbaijan, and I have worked on the project called “TOPs School System” which is related to the newly established education system in several schools of Azerbaijan together with the help of UNICEF’s Youth and Adolescent Department. I had a recent experience in Lisbon, Portugal as an intern on Help to Raise Awareness on Gender Equality, working on this topic made me realize more about the issues on gender inequalities and trying to find accurate solutions, therefore, to leave a better future for the next generation. Lastly, I am planning to study my master’s degree in Gender Studies, to be able to develop a framework for thinking about the power relations connected to the social constructions of gender, race, religion, and nationality through theories.
