Amanda Nokuphiwa Zulu

South Africa

My name is Amanda Nokuphiwa Zulu. My names mean “lovable” and “gifted” and to truly embody this name has been a difficult journey for me. Navigating my mental health in a country already infested with past and present trauma,I have felt myself sink into deep holes. I woke up one day and said “NO MEANS NO” I will not be held down by chains created by past social injustices. I embodied my names and decided it was time to study Psychology so that I could find my voice and ways to my contribute to my country and develop skills to healing intergenerational trauma. I finally made it and registered 5 years later and the journey to collaborating with other communities who contributed positively to the cause of healing future leaders began. I worked for 2 organisations Tomorrow Trust for 8 months and later joined the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation where most of my holistic wellness skills developed. Supporting young students allowed me a chance to live and breathe through social change!
