Iraq

People all come from different Walks. I am Dlpak Ali Mohammed; a Kurdish female coming from a middle-income family in a small town of Halabja in Northern Iraq; recognized worldwide for being bombarded by chemical attacks in 1988 by Saddam Hussein’s Regime. In fact, I was born as a refugee in a Kurdish City of Iran in 1991 after my family fled to Iran in 1988. After finishing High school in Halabja, I was accepted at the American University of Iraq- Sulaimaniya. I graduated Business Administration and Management Concentration in 2016. During college and after, I was actively involved in school activities and outside activities especially related to peacebuilding, refugees & women leadership. in 2014, I was selected by the US State Department to participate in a women Leadership Exchange Program. In 2015, I was also selected by the UNESCO & the Aladdin Project to participate in a program of summer universities in Turkey on peace-building and I was awarded in Paris in 2017 a “the Youth Ambassador for Peace”. In November 2017, I was also selected by the USIP to a two-weeks program by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, India.
Is this enough? Of course not. We need continuous work and support to make this world a better place to live with accepting all the differences we have. Therefore, my work & efforts in this regard will continue to bring peace to everyone.
