Alwande Moyo is a passionate youth leader, peace advocate, and social justice champion dedicated to advancing civic awareness, human rights, and sustainable development. With an unwavering commitment to empowering young people as agents of change, he has led and contributed to several global and regional initiatives focused on peacebuilding, equality, and youth participation in governance.
He serves as a State of Youth Chapter Leader, mobilizing young voices to promote peace, justice, and sustainability within communities. As a UNICEF Zimbabwe Advocate and Justice Desk Africa Lead Ambassador, Alwande has spearheaded transformative campaigns on child protection, civic education, and human rights awareness. Through his work as a Theirworld Global Youth Ambassador, he has championed access to quality education as a foundation for peace and social progress.
At Amnesty International, Alwande plays an active role within the Youth Power Action Network, advocating for freedom, justice, and dignity for all. His engagement with several high schools has included leading youth dialogues on peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and community resilience—helping amplify young voices in global human rights conversations.
Honourable Alwande Moyo serves as the Junior Minister of Environment, Tourism, and Climate in the Junior Parliament of Zimbabwe, where he continues to promote youth engagement in environmental and climate diplomacy. He represented Zimbabwe as a Youth Delegate at COP28 and COP 29. As a YCM (Young Changemakers Movement) Ambassador, he continues to mentor emerging leaders on peace advocacy and civic participation.
In recognition of his outstanding contribution to youth empowerment and nation-building, the Zimbabwean Ministry of Youth Empowerment and Development awarded him the Top 100 National Ecosystem Builders Award. His impactful advocacy also earned him a place at the United Nations Civil Society Forum in February 2025, where he addressed global delegates on the urgent state of education and healthcare in Zimbabwe — calling for collective action and renewed commitment to youth-led change.
