Boubacar holds a Master’s Degree in English from the University of Bamako. In 2011, while attending college, he has volunteered at Institut pour l’Education Populaire Mali (IEP)’s lab school (Ciwara) as a House-keeper and guide for USA and Netherlands volunteers who came to help. He also co-facilitated workshops and was a kindergarten teacher. He later started organizing the Ciwara Olympic Games (an annual sports event) and resettled the school library. It was at the library where he facilitated reading sessions for students and relaunched the Student Parents’ Association. He also worked as a logistics manager for Malian Peace Game, an initiative based on teaching students how to contribute in peacebuilding. From 2014-2016 He was an English teacher at “Lycée Privé Hadja Fanta Sidibé de Kati.” He has worked from 2015-2016 on a freelance basis with International Sports Alliances in Mali (ISA) as a coach, mentor, and trainer of community sports coaches and stakeholders. This is where he currently works as a Youth and Sports manager.
Boubacar is driven by his commitment to bring the young people to create change in their life and within their community using sport. He plans to continue his work in sport for development and peace with a focus on advocacy for civic engagement of young people.
