My name is Maatla Ndinabo Komaetsile, a Botswana national and graduate in Economics and Political Science from the University of Botswana. I am a passionate young leader dedicated to advancing peace, sustainable development, and inclusive governance through dialogue, education, and community-driven initiatives.
My professional journey reflects a consistent commitment to leadership, empowerment, and advocacy. I have served as an Executive Assistant and Public Relations Officer at Make Change Africa NGO, where I coordinated youth empowerment programs in junior and senior secondary schools, focusing on leadership, personal development, and career guidance. As a Community Outreach Intern at Women Ascension NGO, I played a key role in organizing webinars and initiatives that promoted women’s rights and capacity building across Africa. Additionally, my internship at the Lobatse High Court under the Administration of Justice provided me with insights into institutional systems, accountability, and administrative management.
On the international stage, I represented Botswana at the UNESCO International Youth Forum on Heritage and Creativity held in Nanjing, China, where I was honored with awards for Best Content Presentation and Outstanding Creation for my project “My Beautiful Hometown.” My work as a contributing writer for Global South Media News further reflects my interest in political thought and African development, with published articles analyzing governance, democracy, and economic transformation.
I have also held leadership roles as the Public Relations Officer for the University of Botswana Political Science Society and as Minister of Foreign Affairs in the All Women Model Parliament Botswana, where I contributed to policy debates and youth engagement platforms focused on peace and democracy.
Through these experiences, I have developed strong communication, coordination, and strategic planning skills that enable me to effectively lead teams, manage projects, and engage stakeholders across sectors. I am deeply inspired by Global Peace Chain’s mission of promoting peace through dialogue and cooperation and believe that my academic background, leadership experience, and commitment to youth empowerment align well with the objectives of the organization.
As a young professional with a vision to build bridges of understanding and inspire meaningful change, I am eager to contribute to Global Peace Chain’s impact both locally and globally.
