Kitgak Simon is a resilient youth from Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. He is an award winning social impact leader with 3 years of experience. He is a final year Electrical Power Engineering student at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi. He is an awarded UNHCR Young Refugee Champion by the United Nations High Commission for Refugee, Climate Champion and certified SDG Advocate by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Nigeria. He was a 2022 Millennium Fellow Director, 2023 Harvard Aspire Leaders Fellow. He is a member of Queens Commonwealth Trust(QCT) Network, SDG 7 Youth Constituency, United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth (UNMGCY) and UNEP Working Group on Nitrogen.
He was part of the 2023 Health Equity Champions Fellowship, African Climate Storytelling Fellowship and Student for Liberty’s African Liberty Writing Fellowship. Kitgak is a Renewable Energy Research volunteer with the Pan-African Research Group (PARG) with over 10 written papers on sustainable practices. He is the start-up founder of Kitron Green Initiatives(KGI) and also a Global Youth Ambassador with Theirworld on SDG 4 (Quality Education). He works as an International Youth Mathematics Challenge (IYMC) Ambassador, International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition (IAAC) Ambassador, IEP Peace Ambassador, International Youth Conference (IYC) Ambassador, Green Sustainability Ambassador, Github Global Campus Expert, Plateau State Coordinator with the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN). Kitgak is strongly passionate about SDGs 3, 4, 7, 11, 13, and 14.
