Tin Shine Aung completed his master degree in Biochemistry at the University of Yangon in 2015 and continued his double master degree in Marine Sciences-Marine Resources (Marine Natural Products) at Abel Salazar Biomedical Science Institute, University of Porto, Portugal with the scholarships offered from Erasmus Mundus which is funded by the European Union. Until his departure to Portugal in 2015, he worked in Shine Pharmacy, Yangon, Myanmar as Sale Supervisor for three years. In 2015, he joined Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research, University of Porto, Portugal as a postgraduate researcher in CHEMISTRY AND BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY OF MARINE NATURAL PRODUCTS research team. At the end of 2017, he published his first international research article in Marine Drugs about “A New Dihydrochromone Dimer and Other Secondary Metabolites from Cultures of the Marine Sponge-Associated Fungi Neosartorya fennelliae KUFA 0811 and Neosartorya tsunodae KUFC 9213”. After he returned to Myanmar, he studied postgraduate diploma in International/Global Studies at Myanmar-Korea Centre for International Studies at the University of Yangon. Tin Shine Aung is currently working as Trainer and Facilitator at Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (UNFAO), a role he has held since January 2019 and is highly motivated by the work the development does to enable Burmese people to effect change in their country.
He is also actively participated in social and community works and awarded Certificate of Honour by the President of the Union of Republic of Myanmar in 2013 due to his contribution in 27 South East Asia Games, Myanmar as Liaison officer for VIP officials from South East Asia Countries. In addition, he is also one of the core members of the University Muslim Student Network-Myanmar (UMS) and he served as Executive and Co-Officer In Charge of Foreign Affairs Committee during the first term of UMS network in 2013. At the end of 2018, he elected as Global Peace Ambassador in Global Peace Chain to cultivate the culture of tolerance, inclusiveness & social peacebuilding across the world through focus group discussions with community stakeholders, politicians, diplomats, ambassadors, influential community groups, religious scholars and community-based organizations across the globe. In his spare time, he is a keen runner and often takes part in sponsored events and international marathon. He performed in the Pocari Sweat Run 2018 at 10 km Challenge category and Yoma Yangon International Marathon 2019 at 21.1 km (Half Marathon) category
