Oluwafemi is a seasoned professional in the social enterprise sector, bringing over six years of expertise in the Agrifood industry. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Science Laboratory Technology from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Nigeria, and an MBA from the IBM Institute in Germany. As the executive director at OBA Global Citizens, Oluwafemi spearheaded the FarmFood4All project, which aids small-scale farmers in rural Nigerian communities to transition smoothly to sustainable agriculture. By offering technical assistance, and training, the project empowers smallholder farmers to enhance productivity and adopt sustainable practices. Notably, Oluwafemi has facilitated the deployment of sustainable solar energy solutions among over 2,000 farmers, resulting in the removal of over 20,000 tons of CO2 emissions in 2 years.
Previously, Oluwafemi played a pivotal role in global initiatives, participating in a summit in Paris to discuss financial mechanisms for achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) alongside world leaders. Additionally, he contributed his expertise to innovation workshops on water quality monitoring and assessment, organized by the European Commission Joint Research Center and WMO, UNEP, UNESCO, UNITAR, and IAEA. Oluwafemi’s impactful work has garnered international recognition, including his selection as one of 30 successful applicants out of over 4,200 worldwide to join the IMF senior management staff. During the IMF-World Bank annual meeting, he engaged in discussions on inclusive growth with key figures such as Mrs. Antoinette Sayeh, advocating for the inclusion of women and young girls in sustainable development efforts against global warming. Furthermore, Oluwafemi was appointed as an expert writer for a report on water management and purification technology by the African Union Development Agency, highlighting the socioeconomic importance of deploying emerging technologies in sustainable water management. Oluwafemi is an Ambassador to the Institute for Economic and Peace.
