United States of America

As the Country Director of the United States for the International Plan USA, I bring a wealth of experience and dedication to advocating for refugees and youth empowerment. Originally hailing from the Republic of Congo, I currently reside in Providence, Rhode Island, where I embarked on my academic journey at Rhode Island College in 2018.

In addition to my studies, I am deeply involved in community activism, serving as a youth representative on the Board of Directors at the Refugee Dream Center. My commitment to this cause has garnered recognition from esteemed figures such as Congressman Sheldon Whitehouse, Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo, U.S. Senator Jack Reed, Mayor Allan W. Fung of Cranston, and Congressman David N. Cicilline, among others.

My advocacy extends beyond accolades and recognition. I have actively participated in initiatives like the #FreeCollegeRI campaign, where I testified before the Rhode Island House Finance Committee, advocating for educational accessibility. My efforts in this realm were acknowledged with the prestigious Roger Williams Scholarship from the Rhode Island Foundation in 2017.

In addition to my advocacy work, I coordinate the Refugee Youth Dream mentoring program at the Refugee Dream Center, receiving the 2018 Exemplary Youth Service Award for my contributions. My experiences as a refugee from the Congo imbue me with a unique perspective on community engagement and the imperative of global peace.

Looking towards the future, my aspirations include obtaining a PhD in public relations and public administration, with the ultimate goal of leveraging my knowledge to effect positive change in Brazzaville, my hometown. Through education and mentorship, I aim to inspire the next generation to pursue academic and professional excellence.

My recent appointment as a youth advisory board member for International Plan USA further underscores my commitment to advocating for youth empowerment on a global scale. With each endeavor, I remain steadfast in my dedication to creating a more equitable and inclusive world for refugees and young people everywhere.
